About NIE Mysore:

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), established in the year 1946, today stands in 196th   place among top engineering colleges in the country that include IITs and NITs as per the National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF-2021) announced by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). It is ranked 13 among India’s top Engineering Colleges, as per a survey conducted by India Today (July 2021). NIE is managed by a registered society and nine out of ten current directors are distinguished alumni of the institute.

To enrich research and consultancy activities, 14 Centres of Excellence have been set up in collaboration with Industries and Alumni.  These Centres provide opportunities for students to fine-tune their skills to the expectation of industries and offer consultancy services.  Many funded research projects by Central and State Governments, VTU, and overseas universities are presently being carried out at NIE.  Three patents have been granted to NIE recently.
