State and explain Ohm’s law with its limitations.
Ohm’s law states that the voltage across a conductor is directly proportional to the current flowing through it, provided all physical conditions and temperature, remain constant.
Ohm’s Law Equation:
V = IR
where ,
V is the voltage across the conductor,
I is the current flowing through the conductor
R is the resistance provided by the conductor to the flow of current.
Limitations :-
- Ohm’s law does not apply to unilateral electrical components such as diodes as well as transistors.
- Ohm’s law is not followed by semiconductors such as Germanium and Silicon.
- Ohm’s Law is not applicable to non-linear elements with parameters like capacitance, the voltage and current won’t be constant wrt time
