This operation gives the set of all positions (z) where:
- Structuring element B₁ fits entirely inside foreground (A)
- Structuring element B₂ fits entirely inside background (Aᶜ)
- Simultaneously at the same z location
Hence, a “hit” in the foreground and a “miss” in the background.
